Yoga for surfers
Yin yoga: faster recovery for optimal performance
Yin yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that focuses on long-held, passive postures. The primary aim is to stretch the connective tissues - such as fascia, ligaments, and tendons - rather than working the muscles as you would in more dynamic, yang practices like vinyasa or ashtanga. By holding postures for extended periods, typically 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer, yin yoga offers a deep stretch and targets the joints, promoting flexibility and releasing tension.
As our camp schedule is pretty tight with two surf sessions a day and other classes, we emphasize the importance of yin yoga to help your muscles recover after paddling few hours each day. This restorative practice gives your body the attention it needs, helping you recharge and optimize your surfing experience with us during two weeks surf camp.
