Having people arrive at the same time and stay together builds up good surf team spirit and gives everyone time to get to know one another better. Surfing and spending time together makes life-long friendships!

  • After selecting the surf camp package and filling in your details, you’ll be redirected to the payment gateway to submit a non-refundable deposit which is required to secure your reservation. As soon as a deposit payment is processed, your place at Surf Camp Lombok is reserved and you will receive a booking confirmation email with all the travel information you will need. In case your plans change we`ll keep your deposit for your (or your friends) next booking with us for one year.

  • The remaining balance should be paid upon arrival at the Surf Camp Lombok by using the payment gateway on the booking portal. Please remember to bring some cash with you, as most of the cafes and shops in Gerupuk only accept cash.

  • At the moment, no. While our camps are running, we only have the surf camp packages available. We have a break from the camps twice a year, typically in January and July. During that time, we’re open for Bed and Breakfast. Private surfing lessons can be easily arranged at extra cost.

Getting to Lombok

  • Your destination would be Lombok International Airport (LOP). At the moment there are two daily international flights from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and more from Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali. To save on tickets we recommend flying to Lombok transiting through Jakarta or Surabaya and trying to avoid connection through Bali unless you have already planned to be in Bali as part of your itinerary. Flying to Lombok from Jakarta is almost half the price of a flight from Bali.

    Taxi from the airport

We recommend using Grab or Gojek taxi-hailing apps to book your ride from the airport to Surf Camp Lombok, both companies have specific pick-up points located near the KFC restaurant across the road from Arrivals. It is a short ride from the airport to our surf camp, which typically takes about 20 minutes.

  • If you have chosen to spend time in Bali before arriving in Lombok, you can take a ferry or fast boat from Bali to Lombok. Fast boat departs from Padang Bai, Sanur and Serangan and arrives at Bangsal pier, Lombok. The public ferry departs only from Padang Bai and arrives at Lembar port, Lombok. The taxi ride from Bangsal pier to Surf Camp Lombok takes about two hours and from Lembar port is less than an hour.

  • You can get a visa on arrival at Lombok airport which is valid for 30 days. This type of visa can be extended for another 30 days. If you wish to stay in Indonesia for more than 30 days we recommend applying for a visa online at the official immigration website before you start the trip, as that makes the extension process much easier for you.

Surfing

  • YES, this is our number one requirement! Participants should be able to tread and keep their head above the water as well as freestyle / stroke swimming.

  • On the first and last day, there is one session and on any other day there are two surf sessions per day.

  • Surf Camp Lombok is located right at the beachfront and boat rides to the surf spots within Gerupuk bay take not more than 15 minutes.

  • Lombok is a great destination for surfing all year-round and has two main seasons. The dry season (April to October) usually brings stronger winds and bigger swells, while the wet season (November to March) offers more glassy days and mellow waves with less crowds. We cannot predict the future, swell or wave conditions too much as we are dealing with nature, but there is always a wave to surf in Lombok, no matter what the conditions are!

  • As the sun is very harsh in Indonesia, please bring sun protection with you. This includes but is not limited to: zinc, sunblock (we recommend a minimum of 50+ SPF), a surf hat, sunglasses, surf leggings, and a rash vest.

  • The water in Lombok is very warm all year round and ranges between 22 and 29 degrees celsius. During the wet season, a rashguard and board shorts / bikinis would be more than sufficient. For ladies we recommend bringing leggings to avoid getting sunburnt. If you are visiting Lombok in the dry season, you can bring a wetsuit top (for guys) / neoprene spring suits (for ladies), depending on your personal preference and comfort in cooler water temperatures.

  • Lombok daily air temperature ranges between 28 and 32 degrees celsius and during the night it can cool down to 24 degrees.

  • Yes! We have defined different surfing levels here, to help you assess your surf level.

  • We have a wide selection of surfboards and our instructors will assist you in selecting the appropriate board for your skill level upon arrival.

  • Yes, absolutely! We have plenty of boards to choose from, but if you have your own surfboard, we recommend bringing it with you.
